Of course it's not my favorite Olympic moment that Joannie Rochette's mom died; rather, the amazing strength that Joannie use to get through the ordeal. Instead of simply giving up and dropping out after the devastating news of her mother's death, she continued on to compete in the Olympics as was her dream; just like her mother would have wanted, she said. And not only did she skate, but she skated great!
